Major General Fouad Aref Al-Barzanji (1913 - 2010) is an Iraqi Kurdish politician and military who held various positions in Iraq during the royal and republican eras, including the escort of King Ghazi, the Chief of Staff of the Army, the Governor of Karbala, the Minister of Guidance, then Minister of Endowments, Deputy Prime Minister,and the position of Chief of Staff of the Army .
